June 28, 2011, WASHINGTON, D.C. – TECHNICAL WRITING 101 online course will admit new students starting today.

The comprehensive communication course teaches not only how to write better technical English but also how to write a simple user guide that can be developed later on into a full-fledged user manual to present to recruiters and hiring managers..

The unique course was developed by Dr. Ugur Akinci, President, Technical Communication Center.

*** COMMUNICATION VETERAN

Dr. Ugur Akinci is a Fortune 500 technical writer with 25 years of writing, editing, and publishing experience.

“We have designed this course to help not only those students who’d like to build up their self-confidence and communicate with power, but also for both American and international students who would like to learn more about the first steps they should take to become successful technical writers,” said Dr. Akinci.

“I’m very proud of this course which has been in the making for the better part of the last year,” added Dr. Ugur Akinci. “We’ve managed to squeeze in a lot of content, including many examples, exercises, diagrams, and assignments into this six-lesson power course.”

*** PERSONAL CARE and INVOLVEMENT

Another distinguishing characteristic of this online course is the personal attention given to each student.

“The course assignments that the students submit are read and evaluated one at a time and returned to the students with my personal comments and feedback,” Dr. Akinci said.

“When the students finish this course, they will develop the confidence to move ahead towards a successful career in technical communications as a junior technical writer,” said Dr. Akinci.
